LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department says a man has life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near S Coddington and West O.

LPD said when officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old man had been hit by a car. Officers said the man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Officers said they interviewed witnesses, processed the scene for evidence and determined that a silver 2007 Mercury Monterey had been eastbound on W O Street in the outside lane of traffic.

According to police, the man ran across the street in front of the car.

LPD said the driver of the car is a 45-year-old woman and there have been no arrests or citations issued at this time.

Police also said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
